The North Dakota Century Code states that if a “significant degree of public interest exists” the ND Dept. of Health will hold a public hearing.

A number of area residents concerned about a proposed hog farm are planning a meeting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5 in the Great American Inn and Suites.

The hog farm, under the name of Grand Prairie Agriculture, LLP, is a joint venture of Tayler Aasmundstad and Daniel Julson.

They have applied for a North Dakota pollutant discharge elimination system permit for a CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operation) to be located in the southeast quarter of Section 24 of Pelican Township in Ramsey County.

The North Dakota Century Code states that if a “significant degree of public interest exists” the ND Dept. of Health will hold a public hearing. Saturday’s meeting organizers hope to do just that and to encourage the NDDoH to hold a public hearing because of the location proposed for the hog farm.
