Robert ‘Bob’ Lindblom, 71, Lisbon, formerly of Drake, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck.

Robert ‘Bob’ Lindblom, 71, Lisbon, formerly of Drake, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck. His funeral will be held Saturday, July 29 at 11 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Butte. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at Mandan. Arrangements with Bethke-Nelson Funeral Home of Drake. Robert Lee Lindblom, son of Lynn and Ruth (Borg) Lindblom, was born June 20, 1946 at Minot. He grew up on the family farm near Kief and received his early education at a nearby country school. He later attended Butte High School graduating in 1964. Bob entered the United States Navy in 1964 and served his country until receiving his honorable discharge in 1967. In 1968 he began working for the Federal Bureau of Reclamation, primarily in the Devils Lake area, and continued until November of 1971. He then worked for the North Dakota Department of Transportation as a gravel prospector until his retirement. In his later years, Bob resided in Drake and in 2014 he moved to the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon due to ill health. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a life member of the American Legion and a past commander of the Lawrence E. Meidl American Legion Post No. 270 of Butte. He is survived by his special friend, Sarah Soderberg of Drake; his twin brother, Russell (Coletta) Lindblom of Bismarck; 2 sisters, Linda (Gary) Knodel of Minot and Julie (Rick) Bucholz of Bismarck; his sister-in-law, Marcy Lindblom of Bismarck and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marlo.
