Devils Lake’s downtown was once a thriving destination filled with stores, cafés, banks, movie theaters, novelty shops and amusement centers.

Today, however, main street has fallen on hard times with nearly a dozen storefronts vacant within its borders and if you go a block off the city’s Fourth Street that number climbs to more than 20 vacant stores and buildings.
