The name of the deceased will be released Wednesday.
A 31-year-old man was killed Thursday morning when the pickup truck he was driving collided head-on with a tractor-trailer on Hwy. 52 about five miles north of Drake.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that the pickup was eastbound and the semi was westbound on Hwy. 52. The pickup crossed the center line and was struck head-on by the semi. The pickup truck spun and came to rest on the shoulder. The semi was forced off the road, jackknifed, and the cab overturned in a ditch.
The pickup truck driver died at the scene. The semi driver was extricated and flown to Minot for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. NDHP reports that the highway was closed for three hours following the crash and that the name of the deceased will be released Wednesday.
