Police say that a fight involving several people took place at about 12:53 Thursday morning when, according to employees working at the time, a man instigated a brawl.

The second incident in the wee hours of the night at Thirsty’s bar in downtown Devils Lake this week involved a bar brawl, a scuffle with police, and charges for multiple suspects.

Police say that a fight involving several people took place at about 12:53 Thursday morning when, according to employees working at the time, a man instigated a brawl.

After the man was removed from the bar, officers worked to restrain him. When they attempted to wrangle him into a squad car, he allegedly pushed at least one officer into a storefront window, breaking it. He then proceeded to kick officers in the chest until he was eventually subdued.

The man, who has not yet been identified, is expected to be charged with assault on a peace officer and preventing arrest, both C felonies, along with disorderly conduct, a B misdemeanor.

Another man arrested in connection with the brawl allegedly kicked another bar patron in the face, rendering him unconscious, according to witnesses and the victim. He is expected to be charged with aggravated assault, a C felony.

Earlier this week, a customer went outside to smoke a cigarette when he was apparently assaulted by 40-year-old Brandon Sundeen of Brocket, who was eventually arrested by police.

When the customer's friends joined him outside and confronted Sundeen, he "grabbed a gun and waved it at them," according to an employee working at the time.

She also confirmed that Sundeen pointed a gun at the chest of at least one person in the group.

Sundeen left before police arrived, but they were able to locate him shortly after and he was arrested without incident.

He is expected to be charged with felony terrorizing, misdemeanor assault and driving under the influence, though a court date for Sundeen has not been set. It is unknown if he has an attorney.
