Police say that a man facing several warrants led officers on a chase that ended when the man plowed a stolen vehicle into a snowbank.

The incident began at the Holiday Inn on Hwy. 2 when the man, whose name has not been released, gave false information to police after they responded to a call about possible credit card issue. While officers were trying to determine the man’s identity, he fled on foot from the motel.

A search ensued, then it was discovered that the man allegedly stole a vehicle near the motel that the owner had left running. An eyewitness later reported seeing the vehicle at Spirit Lake Casino, and when police arrived, the man again fled.
