  • Morning Jolt: Job growth slows in August

  • After six month of job gains of 200,000 or more, August saw only a gain of 142,000 jobs, the Labor Department reported this morning. The Labor Department also reported that the unemployment rate fell to 6.1 percent from 6.2 percent.
