GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Former WCHA rivals North Dakota and Bemidji State renew acquaintances this weekend when they square off in a home-and-home non-conference series.
he two teams will open the series on Friday at the Sanford Center in Bemidji before concluding the two-game set on Saturday at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks.

Bemidji State picked up a sweep at conference rival Lake Superior State last weekend (5-2, 3-1) and sits in fourth place in the WCHA.
Sophomore forward Cory Ward is tied for the WCHA goal-scoring lead with 12 and leads the Beavers in scoring with 20 points.
On the blueline, junior captain Matt Prapavessis is tied for the WCHA scoring lead among defensemen with 17 points.
The Beavers are the least-penalized team in the WCHA, averaging just 10.7 penalty minutes per game.
UND has won 25 of the 29 meetings between the two programs, going 25-2-2 (.897) in a series that dates back to the 1969-70 season.
Last season, UND took three of four points from its then-WCHA rival to close out the regular season, winning 4-2 in the series opening before a 2-2 overtime tie in the finale.
Junior forward Mark MacMillan leads all active UND skaters with eight points (3G, 5A).
