If we have forgotten to name anybody in this very difficult time of need, it was not intentional.
Gerald David, son of Frank and Cordelia (Douglas) Guy was born on December 28, 1947 at Fort Yates, N.D.  As a youngster, he moved with the family to Tokio, N.D. area and attended the Pierre Indian School in South Dakota.  He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years and that love of the game stayed with him through the years and he played in baseball leagues as an adult.
Jerry married Arlene Littleghost at the age of 19 and they moved to Denver, Colo..  They were the proud parents of Sherri Guy, Deanna Raye Guy, and Gerald Guy Jr. (Mitzel).  The family moved back to the Fort Yates area and Gerald and Arlene enrolled in the UTTC (United Tribes Technical College) and Gerald graduated with a certificate in Auto Body Mechanics. The family then moved to the Spirit Lake Nation and Jerry began working in the maintenance department at IHS (Indian Health Services). He and Arlene separated and in 1999, Jerry began working as a driver for IHS and when the IHS Clinic moved to its new location he continued employment with them.  He enjoyed his work as a driver and held that position until 2012 when he resigned due to medical problems.
While working for IHS, Jerry met Ferry Demarce and they made a life together, making their home in the Tokio area until he passed away.  Jerry was there for Ferry in her time of pain, suffering and her medical problems, holding her hand and supporting her through the years.
Jerry loved living in Tokio, being close to his many family and friends.  He will be remembered for his generous heart and giving a helping hand when and where needed.  Jerry loved and treated all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren with all the love and affection they deserved.
