After a sunny weekend, Devils Lake residents will need to find their winter-weather clothes again this week with temperatures expected to stay below zero in the coming days.
Local forecasts predict bitterly cold weather throughout the week, including tomorrow, with an estimated high of -10.
While the Lake Region is an area of the country that is accustomed to this sort of weather during the winter months, it’s always important to take the proper precautions when enduring with temperatures like these.
It’s always a smart decision to have a survival kit handy when driving in harsh conditions, particularly when one is traveling a considerable distance. There are also precautions to be taken to protect one’s property in the event of such cold weather, including the prevention of ice dams, frozen pipes and, in the event of heavy snow, roof collapses.
