The Devils Lake Police say with the holidays approaching, more scams are making the rounds.

Police report on Friday a resident received an e-mail saying their free American Airlines tickets were enclosed. Before clicking on the attachment the resident contacted a travel agent who in turn contacted American Airlines who said it was a common scam.

A second fraud case was reported Friday, as well. Police say a resident lost $100 after responding to a message saying his computer had a virus. Police say once the resident sent the money, the scammers asked for more money, then the victim realized it was a scam.
