News on the World Cup, a huge ice storm and Time’s Person of the Year poll.
Quote of note
"Obviously it's one of the most difficult groups in the whole draw, having Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo and then Ghana, who has a history with the United States. It couldn't get any more difficult or any bigger. It's a real challenge. And we'll take it. We'll take it on, and hopefully we're going to surprise some people there." - U.S. men’s soccer coach Jurgen Klinsmann, talking about the draw this morning for the 2014 World Cup, which put the U.S. in the “Group of Death.” The U.S. has to play its nemesis Ghana, Portugal and Germany, and travel about 9,000 miles for its three games.
