The LRSC Playmakers Production of Steel Magnolias opens Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the Robert Fawcett Auditorium and will continue through Saturday, Oct. 26.
Steel Magnolias is the story of a close-knit circle of friends whose lives come together. The six women are unique and unforgettable. Truvy ‘s rule is that no one can cry in her salon unless she is crying too. Shelby, the bride to be, whose signature color is “pink and pink,” and her mother M’Lynn, get their hair done at Truvy’s the morning of the wedding and argue over wedding details. Annelle Depuy the new glamour technician, has a mysterious past and she is not sure if she is married or not. Clairee, the former mayor’s wife is sharp tongued and loves to harass the sour tempered Ouiser who claims she’s not crazy, she has just been in a bad mood for forty years.
Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
