The Lakota-Edmore Raider volleyball team swept the Benson County Wildcats 3-0 on Monday night at Leeds High School.
The first game saw the Raiders take an early 7-3 lead and they never looked back.
The Wildcats tried to claw back but didn’t have enough in the tank and fell in the first set by a score of 25-18.
The second game was much more competitive and saw each team switch points for the first 20 points.
It was tied at 10-10 until Lakota scored four unanswered points to take a 14-10 lead. The Raiders then scored seven of the next nine points to go up 21-12 en route to a 25-14 victory.
The third set might have been the best of the night.
Benson Country looked solid early and took a 8-5 lead. They kept playing touch volleyball and took a 11-7 lead.
Lakota fought back into the mix of things and tied it up at 12-12 but struggled during the next few points as Benson County went on to score the next four points.
With a 19-14 lead in favor of the Wildcats, it looked like this was going into a fourth set, but the Raiders had other plans and went on to score the next eight points to take a surprising 22-19 lead.
Benson County was caught off guard but earned the next three points to tie it up at 22-22.
Lakota-Edmore finished the game off with three straight points to take a 25-22 third set victory which gave them a 3-0 win.
