A 20 point fourth quarter helped pave the way for a Fargo North victory over Devils Lake.
The Firebirds started off the scoring in the first quarter when Bradley Davidson ran it in from 28 yards out to give the Firebirds an early 6-0 lead.
Fargo North got on the board with just under two minutes remaining in the first quarter to take an 8-6 lead when Avery Thompson connected to Seth Brenneman from 14 yards out.
Devils Lake struck once again with 4:09 remaining in the first half when Davidson ran in his second touchdown of the evening to give the Firebirds a 12-8 lead going into halftime.
Fargo North scored back to back touchdowns in the third quarter to take their second lead of the game.
Thompson connected with Mike Boutain from 37 yards and 28 yards to give Fargo North a 20-12 lead midway through the third quarter.
Senior runningback Austin Schall cut Fargo North's deficit to two points when he ran it in from 20 yards out to make it a 20-18 game.
Davidson earned his third touchdown of the night early in the fourth quarter with a 31 yard touchdown run. Blake Prozinski pounded it in for the two-point conversion to give the Firebirds a 26-20 lead with 8:55 remaining.
Unfortunately the Firebird defense couldn't stop Fargo North in the fourth quarter as they went on to score four unanswered touchdowns to give them a 40-26 victory.
Sophomore Bradley Davidson led the way on the offensive side of the ball with 103 yards rushing off of eight carries and three scores. Senior Blake Prozinski finished the night with 50 yards rushing on 19 carries and a two-point conversion.
Trent Reierson led the team on defense once again with 8.5 tackles and two tackels for a loss.
Lukas LaMotte also had a solid game on the defensive side of the ball with 6.5 tackles, three tackels for a loss and one quarterback sack.
The Firebirds will finish up their season this Friday night at home against Grand Forks Central. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
