The Firebirds suffered yet another defeat Tuesday night in the form of a three-set sweep at the hands of Valley City (16-11, 6-5 EDC).
The Hi-liners won the match 25-12, 25-22, 25-18.
Chelsie Schlieve led Devils Lake (4-19, 1-11 EDC) with four kills while teammates Cassie Pike, Amber Gathman and Brittany Hood all finished tied just behind her with three kills each. Pike also finished with a team-high two blocks with Alexa Gathman led the Firebirds with 11 digs.
Devils Lake will take on Fargo North in a home match on Oct. 22 for their next contest.
North Star 3,
Benson County 0
North Star Volleyball defeated Benson County in straight sets Tuesday night.
The Bearcats (26-2, 4-2 D-8) won the match 25-15, 25-11, 25-14.
Sarah Hagler led North Star with 14 kills along with two blocks. Allie Heisler put in an all-around performance for the Bearcats, chipping in with four kills, two service aces and a match-high 16 assists. Faith Krom also put in seven service aces for North Star, which led all players for both teams.
For Benson County (9-15, 0-8 D-7), Andrea Jorgenson led the way with 13 kills. Kenadi Lee also led the Wildcats with 10 assists.
Carrington continued it's strong season with another win Tuesday night, this time a straight-sets, non-district victory over Rolla.
The Cardinals won the match 25-14, 25-19, 25-16.
Jacey Engelhorn, Madison Wendel and Kayla Hochhalter all co-led Carrington (23-5, 4-2 D-7) with 10 kills each. Hochhalter also led the Cardinals with seven digs, followed closely by Engelhorn (six). Brooke Nosenau led all players with 28 set assists for Carrington.
Mary Jo Guilbert put in a match-high 13 kills for Rolla (21-5, 4-2 D-8).
Carrington will face another strong team in North Star for their next match up, which will take place on Oct. 24 in Cando.
