  • Agnes Burdick, 83, of Milbank, S.D., died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her daughter’s (Kitsey’s) home in Sioux Falls, S.D.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Milbank.
    Visitation will be held Friday, October 18, at Mundwiler Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and continue at the church one hour prior to the service. Reverend Dr. DeVern Schwenn will officiate, music will be provided by Sherry DeBoer and Kitsey Erickson. Burial will be in Minnewaukan Cemetery in Minnewaukan, N.D.
    Agnes “Aggie” Elaine Burdick was born on February 8, 1930 in Devils Lake, N.D. to Herbert and Elsie (Enger) Hatling. On August 10, 1951, she was united in marriage with Raymond “Ike” Burdick in Minnewaukan. They were blessed with three children. They made their home in Devils Lake until 1974 at which time they moved to Milbank, S.D. Aggie had a daycare business in her home in Devils Lake and also was an Avon representative in Milbank.
    Aggie was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church while she lived in Devils Lake, where she was a Sunday School teacher. After moving to Milbank, she was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. An avid bowler, Aggie was known as “Ol’ Nine Pin Aggie” on her bowling team and bowled three times a week. She loved playing solitaire. Aggie and Ike were well known for all of the toys and dolls that they repaired, brought back to life, and donated to charities to distribute to local children at Christmas time. Most of all, Aggie cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
    Agnes is survived by her son Robin (Bert) Burdick of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters: Elaine (Jerry) Gorden of Buxton, N.D., and Kitsey (Andy) Erickson of Sioux Falls; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike, on March 1, 2011.
