The Devils Lake Kiwanis Club picks up the litter in both ditches of Highway 57 from the junction of Highway 2. Southward to the leveedike as part of the “Adopt A Highway” program. The North Dakota Department of Transportation loans the group the safety vests and provides the trash bags, along with next morning pickup of the collected trash.
This semi-annual club project has been part of the Club’s activity list for more than 20 years. Area youth groups are invited by the Kiwanis Club to participate as a fundraiser for their organizations, with Kiwanis providing them with a monetary contribution.
