  • FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The jury in the case of a man accused of killing two children on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation in North Dakota is set to resume deliberations.
Twenty-year-old Valentino "Tino" Bagola is charged with murder for the May 2011 slayings of 9-year-old Destiny Jane Shaw-Dubois and her 6-year-old brother, Travis Lee DuBois Jr. in St. Michael.
Authorities say Bagola stabbed the children to death after he sexually assaulted the girl, and that he did so because he was angry at their father but couldn't find him. Defense attorneys say the father of the victims is responsible.
The jury of eight women and four men deliberated for three hours Thursday and about seven hours Friday.
Jurors are scheduled to return to the federal courthouse in Fargo at 9 a.m. Monday.
