  • FARGO, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota State University head football coach Craig Bohl says the national media attention he's gotten since the Bison beat Kansas State on Friday night is the most he's dealt with in his 11 years at the Fargo school.
Kansas State plays in the Football Bowl Subdivision, and NDSU in the lower-tier Football Championship Subdivision. NDSU, the two-time defending FCS champion, upset the Wildcats 24-21 with a frantic fourth-quarter rally.
Bohl was a guest on eight regional or national radio shows over the weekend and also was interviewed by The New York Times, The Forum newspaper reported.
"That was a big, big win," he said. "That was a signature win for our program."
Bohl also said it is important that the team move forward and concentrate on the next opponent. NDSU's home opener is Saturday against Ferris State, which plays in NCAA Division II.
"One thing that is more dangerous than a team that doesn't think they can win is a team that doesn't think they can lose," Bohl said.
