A Remembrance Service for Duncan "Butch" Templer, James Michael Axtman, will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Gilbertson Chapel, Devils Lake, ND. Butch has been absent from our presence, but not from our hearts, since Wednesday, July 24, 2013. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by the remembrance service at 10 a.m., and a time of lunch and fellowship at St. Joseph Parish Center, Devils Lake beginning at 11 a.m.
Butch was born on October 31, 1962 in Moorhead, Minn. As a young man, he served with the North Dakota Army National Guard as well as in the Air Force. More recently, Butch has been employed by Trans System of Montana. He drove semi from the sugar beet pilers to the beet factories in the Hillsboro, N.D. area. This past summer he continued to work for Trans System, but in a different capacity.
Butch’s passion has always been truck driving. He loved time spent with his great nephews, and he always knew how to make them laugh.
Those who love and miss Butch are his step children, Holly Everett, Cornelius Everett, Beth Gonzales and Rebecca Gonzales; mother, Donna Templer Axtman of Fargo, N.D.; sisters, Tamara Lynn Axtman (Ken) Kraft of Minot, N.D. and Lorene Templer Jones, Fairfield, OH; nieces, Mandy (Tim) Smith, Jenny Kraft, Kayla Piatz; nephew, Tyler (Brooke) Piatz; great nephews, Kenny, John and Jack; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Michael Axtman in 2012.
