Darrel John Burt, 84, of Lake Oswego, Ore., passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013.
He was born to Robert and Mae (Phelan) Burt on June 22, 1929, in Devils Lake, N.D. He was the second of seven children. Darrel married his loving wife, Eileen Eisele, in 1955. Together they moved to Chicago, IL where he served in the U.S. Army. They eventually moved to Lake Oswego where they raised their three daughters and built a successful HVAC business. Darrel loved life. He was a natural born leader with a heart to serve family, friends and strangers alike. He enjoyed gardening and had a special passion for roses. He was a very involved long time parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Darrel will be remembered for his quick wit, spirit of adventure, creative storytelling and for being everyone's best friend.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen; daughters, Kenlyn Long (Bill), Cameo Passini (Greg) and Renae Kempthorn (Greg); seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four siblings, Margie Lane, Lois Myers, Roger (Charlotte) Burt and Marilyn Winslow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
