  • BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Department of Transportation is warning residents about fraudulent telephone calls from people claiming to be representatives of the driver's license division.
DOT officials say callers have been telling residents that their driving privileges are in jeopardy and they must pay fees in order to keep them.
The scammers ask for personal information and direct that money be sent to a California address.
Officials say the DOT does not make phone calls about driving privileges and suggests that residents hang up on the callers.
