Genevieve Eberle, 99, of Esmond, N.D., died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Heart of America Medical Center Long Term Care in Rugby, N.D.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 24 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond with Fr. Brian Bachmeier and Fr. Bernard Pfau, celebrants. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers will be her grandsons; Greg Wolfe, Dave Wolfe, Rick Kimball, Rod Kimball, Jeff Meyer, John Meyer, Joe Meyer, Mike Thompson, Jay Thompson and Ryan Thompson. Her granddaughters will serve as the pallbearers; Pam Tharldson, Julie Grove, Heidi Garmann, Holly Mischel and Misti Petrie. Members of the St. Boniface Confraternity of Christian Mothers will form the honor guard. Music will be from Becky and Shelby Brandvold.
Jenny was born to Nick and Frances Pfau, June 17, 1914, on a farm south of Esmond. She attended a rural school and high school in Esmond. She married Leo P. Eberle August 26, 1934. Jenny spent a lifetime caring for her family while working tirelessly cooking at the Esmond School and Ann’s Cafe. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as ?Kuchen Grandma. Jenny enjoyed knitting, crocheting, camping, fishing, gardening, and canning.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Harvey Eagles, and The Good Sam Club.
Jenny’s last five years were under the care of a loving, supportive staff at Rugby?s Heart of America Medical Center.
She is survived by her five daughters, LaVerne Kimball of Bismarck, N.D.; Jane (Pat) Wolfe of Esmond; Janice (Pete) Meyer of Minot, N.D.; Arlene (Gene) Hueth of Sidney, Mont.; and Dottie (Jim) Thompson of Fargo, N.D.; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; granddaughter Jackie, great-grandson, Derick; all of her brothers and sisters; and a son-in-law, Richard Kimball.
The Nelson Funeral Home of Maddock is in charge of the arrangements.
