The 13th annual walleye classic concluded on Sunday at Spirit Lake Casino. The top 25 participants were all awarded cash prizes with the first place winner taking home $10,000.
Finishing in fifth place was the team of Cody Armstrong and Joe Armstrom with a total weight of 36.26 pounds. Ryan Genre and Richard Lesmann came in fourth place with a weight of 38.45 pounds. Third place was awarded to Forrest Balvitsch and Jeremy Sandvik who finished with a total weight of 39.9 pounds. The runner-ups of the tournament were Troy Sand and Nick Fugleburg who had a combined weight of 43.91 pounds. The $10,000 check for first place was awarded to Jason Ramberg and Travis Clemens who finished the tournament with a total weight of 49.08 pounds.
The big fish award was given to Mark Zinke. Zinke caught a 7.54 pound fish and edged out the team of Cody Armstrong and Joe Armstrom by 0.2 pounds.
59 teams competed in the two day tourney. It was a windy weekend to be on the lake, but overall it was a positive turnout.
