Bernice “Bernie” Trummer, 78, of Norwood Young America, Minn., passed away Wednesday May 8, 2013 at her residence.
A private memorial service will be held.
Bernice “Bernie” Regina (Dettling) Trummer was born on May 29, 1934 in Devils Lake, N.D., the daughter of Paul and Christina (Schiele) Dettling. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Devils Lake. Before moving to Minnesota in 1969, Bernie lived in Portland, Ore. Bernie was a cook at local restaurants including longtime employment at Mueller’s in Norwood Young America and Bumps in Glencoe. She was known for her salads and homemade soups. Bernie enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed.
Bernie is survived by her loving family; daughters, Linda Trummer of St. Louis Park, Minn., Patti Oslund and her husband Steve of Minnetonka, Minn., Janet Prchal and her husband Mark of Excelsior, Minn.; son, Terry Trummer of Austin, Minn.; grandchildren, John Trummer, Nicholas Oslund and fiancé Emma, Marissa Oslund, Derek Prchal and his wife Kelly, Matthew Prchal, Shawn Trummer, Kelly Hoffman; great grandchildren, Kiana, Lucia, Aubrey, Skylr; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alex and Sandy Dettling of Devils Lake, N.D., Richard and Marge Dettling of Roseville, David and Pat Dettling of Devils Lake; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bernie is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Christina Dettling, son Lee Trummer.
