Harold Himle, 89, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 6 at 11 a.m. at the Brookshire Ward Chapel, with a viewing one hour prior to services.
He and twin sister, Hazel, were born March 14, 1924 to Anna Muri and Nils Himle in Wolford, ND. He served his country in the US Army during WWII.
Harold married Lois Johnson, August 1, 1950 and together they built a business, a family and a home.
As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Harold never wavered in his devotion. He was a loving husband, proud father and doting grandfather. His example of hard work never ceased. He worked not only for his family but for the people of Papua, New Guinea, where he and Lois served a mission for the church. Age never slowed him down; his strong hands were busy with projects well past retirement.
He is survived by his sister, Hazel Johnson of Cando, N.D.; daughter-in-law, Kathleen of Bluffdale, UT; children, Wesley (Kathy) of West Jordan, UT, Steven (Becky) of Redlands, Calif., Curtis (Sheila) of Layton, UT, David (Victoria) of Bakersfield, Calif., Barbara (Roger) Ishino of Murray, UT, Susan (Larry) Clark of Mapleton, UT; 27 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Delores Himle, Irene Himle, Stella Himle; brother-in-law, Carrol Larson, and many extended family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Johnson); son, Doug; brothers, Lawrence, Arnold, Joe, Nils Jr.; sisters, Sadie (Jerry) Qvammen, Thelma Larson, Opal Himle; and niece, Karen Anderson.
