The Pajama Game is a fun-loving Broadway Musical of 1954, written by Richard Bissel and George Abbott, music by Jerry Ross and Richard Adler, about the workings of a pajama factory and its employees’ persistent efforts to earn a raise in wages of 7 and ½ cents! The conflict between the union and management drives the plot while love blossoms right in the middle. Many colorful characters and familiar songs make this a delightful musical to see! It will leave you laughing and humming! (It was most recently revived on Broadway in 2006, starring Harry Connick Jr. and Kelly O’Hara.) Some of the better known songs are “Hey There”, “Steam Heat” and “Hernando’s Hideaway”.
Fort Totten Little Theater’s musical will be directed by an alum, Misti Koop. Misti played Annie in “Annie Get Your Gun,” in 2007. She returns to direct and perform this summer. Misti has been a frequent performer at Frost Fire Summer Theater, Crimson Creek Players in Grand Forks, University of ND (where she earned a masters in Theatre Arts) and more recently touring and working in and out of New York City and Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Her favorite recent credits include a disciple in the National Tour of “Jesus Christ Superstar,” a Musician/Actor, Circus Ring Mistress, for Norwegian Cruise Lines, and a 2012 Burning Hills Singer in “The Medora Musical.” She is excited to revisit “The Fort” for a fun-filled musical summer! Please join Misti, Stef Keller as music director, Miki Noltimier as choreographer, and several others including the FTLT board of directors.
