On March 16 and April 6, the Devils Lake Just For Kix Teams competed in the United We Dance Competitions in Wahpeton and Jamestown.
Each event featured 100 competing teams, which included over 1,200 performers. The Devils Lake program had 10 teams and more than 100 dancers competing, with most of those teams taking top honors.
Senior Hip Hop (grades 7-12) – 1st place Wahpeton and 2nd place Jamestown
Senior Jazz (grades 7-12) – 2nd place Wahpeton
Middle Kix (grades 6-7) – 2nd place Jamestown
Wee Jazz (grades 3-4) – 2nd place Wahpeton and Jamestown
Petite Jazz (grades 1-2) – 3rd place Jamestown
Middle Hip Hop (grades 4-6) – 3rd place Wahpeton
Mini Kix (grades 5-6) – 3rd place Jamestown
Mini Jazz (grades 5-6) – 4th place Wahpeton
The Devils Lake Just For Kix program is in its 12th year of performance and includes local area children age 3 through grade 12. The Just For Kix local director is Erin Lacina. Head instructors and assistants are Sadie Senger, Raquel Halldorson, Rachel Lysne and Amber Stokke.
Just For Kix is a national leader in dance instruction and is committed to youth advancement through performance. Based out of Brainerd, Minnesota, the organization has over 200 locations nationwide in 10 states. Annually, the company provides multiple United We Dance competitive opportunities for affiliated dance team programs to compete.
