North Dakota Telephone Company (NDTC) recently announced the expansion of our local calling area for residential and business customers.
As of April 23 all calls made within the 25 exchanges of NDTC will become free local calls. This includes any cell phone numbers based within NDTC’s 25 exchanges. The 25 exchanges are: Balta, Cando, Crary, Devils Lake, Drake, Esmond, Fessenden, Fort Totten, Hampden, Harvey, Knox, Leeds, Maddock, McVille, Minnewaukan, New Rockford, Oberon, Pekin, Penn, Rugby, Sheyenne, Starkweather, Tolna, Warwick, and Webster.
With this change, NDTC’s monthly rates will be changing on May 1. The rate changes were outlined in a letter sent to all subscribers. The new rates will allow NDTC to be compliant with recent Federal Communication Commission (FCC) orders that pertain to local service rates. NDTC will now provide our customers with a company wide local calling area.
As of April 23, 2013, it will no longer be necessary to dial 1-701 when placing calls within the new local calling area. If you have any equipment (i.e. fax machines, speed dialing, programmed buttons on a phone, etc.) it will need to be changed. If this is not changed you will get a recording telling you it is not necessary to dial 1-701. If you have any questions about these changes, please call 662-1100 or 1-800-880-4213, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
NDTC is a leader in providing state of the art communications service to residential and business customers in our serving area, including video, broadband and voice services.
