Jerome P. Bannach, 76, of Grand Forks, N.D., passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 5 p.m.  unyil 7 p.m. Monday with a 4:30 p.m. Rosary service and 7 p.m. vigil service at the Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, in the spring.

Jerome Peter Bannach was born April 11, 1936 on the family farm near Calio, N.D., the son of George and Agnes (Fetsch) Bannach.  He attended Calio School and graduated from Egland High School.  He attended Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, graduating with a degree in Accounting.  He was employed with the Chevrolet Dealership in Cando, N.D. and later was employed and retired after 37 years with Rydell Chevrolet in Grand Forks.

Jerome married Mary J. Mueller on March 29, 1967 in Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks.  He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for 46 years and the Knights of Columbus for 55 years. He joined the Knights of Columbus Council 1779 in Devils Lake, N.D. in 1958 and transferred to the Knights of Columbus Council 1260 in Grand Forks.  He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus; a very loving husband, father and grandfather.  He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Michael (LaDonna) Bannach, Fargo, N.D., Mark (Vicky) Geller, Grand Forks, Diane (Dean) Sylvester, Fisher, Minn., Deborah (Russell) Buchanan, Midland/Odessa, Tex.; grandchildren, Dr. Amber (Shad) Gill, Mathew Hoerauf, Travis and Karly Geller, Jacob, Jedd and Jonah Sylvester, Lauryn and Madilyn Bannach; a brother, Elmer Bannach, Calio/Grand Forks; and a sister, Barbara (Dewayne) Janzen, Grand Forks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Agnes Bannach; brothers, James, Edwin and Victor; and sisters, Anna Marie Bannach and Marlene Garritson.
