Here are a few fun things to do this week, right in your own backyard!

Friday, March 15th

Trick Fingers, Adair County Public Library

Teenagers can learn a new skill for weekend at this special program at the library geared towards grades 6-12. Participants will learn how to knit a necklace using their fingers, beginning at 1:30 pm. While your kids are creating, browse the new arrivals and pick up a weekend read for yourself.

Sunday, March 17th

Kirksville Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration, Downtown Kirksville

Gear up in green and hit the streets for St. Patrick’s Day, when we’re all Irish for a day. If you’ve got a competitive streak, you can register as late as the day of the event for the 5K Road Race or 1 mile walk/run. There will be a parade to watch following the race and if you’ve got a baby of the human or dog variety, there’s a Lil Miss and Mister Leprechaun competition and a dog costume contest.

Monday, March 18th

“Danielle Yakle: Futilitarian” Exhibit, Truman State University Art Gallery

Interested in the fine arts? Most events on campus aren’t exclusive to Truman State University students and if you are looking for a new gallery to explore, the Truman Art Gallery should be first on your list. This visiting exhibit from artist and alumnus Danielle Yakle is on display through April, but makes a great way to spend a cold, quiet Monday evening. The gallery, located in the Ophelia Parrish Building, is open daily.

Anytime at All

Rotary Park features a 9 “hole” disc golf course. Grab a disc and a few friends for a fierce outdoor competition. It is staying light out later now, so look for sunshine in the forecast and head out for an afternoon.
