Roger Lee Peterson, 58, of Jamestown, N.D., passed on to his eternal home from Huntington’s disease on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Sanford Palliative Care Unit in Fargo.
Funeral service will be Monday, March 11, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Fessenden. Visitation will be Sunday, March 10 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden. A prayer service will be held Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Fessenden.
Roger Peterson, son of Einer “Pete” and Delores (Neva) Peterson, was born November 20, 1954 at Jamestown. The family resided in Wimbledon, N.D. until 1959 when they relocated to Rolla, ND. In 1962 the family moved to Fessenden, where Roger graduated from Fessenden High School in 1972.
Roger was once married to Cindy Gelling. They were blessed with a daughter, Jennifer, in 1976.
Roger lived in Austin, Tex. for a time before returning to North Dakota, residing in Devils Lake until 2010 when he moved to Jamestown.
Roger is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Brady of Oakes, N.D.; grandson, Zachary Brady of Oakes; his mother, Delores Peterson of Jamestown; sister, Lu Ann Kiemele of Milbank, S.D.; two brothers, Terry (Char) Peterson of Fargo and Joel (Sharyl) Peterson of Devils Lake; nieces and nephews, Stefanie Hagemann, Jodi Kiemele, Cory Kiemele, Sheena Peterson, Sean Peterson, Cheslyn Peterson and Brett Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2010 who also suffered from Huntington’s disease.
