Dan Walter Hawley, of St. James, MO, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the age of 52.
He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 26, 1960 to Richard and Iona (Blickenstaff) Hawley.
His father preceded him in death.
On June 12, 1999 he married Melissa Weinstein, who survives.
Dan earned a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from UMR, now MS&T. He worked as a chemical engineer for Brewer Science in Rolla for he past 25 years.
Dan had served as a Lieutenant for the St. James Volunteer Fire Dept. He was also a member of the Master Gardener’s Organization.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his wife, Melissa Hawley, of the home; his mother, Iona Hawley, of Valparaiso, NE; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stan and Linda Williams, of Newburg, MO; stepdaughter, Sam Jokisch, of St. James, MO; two daughters, Kayla and Rachel Hawley, of Springfield, MO; one sister, Eva Schroer and husband Bruce, of Broken Arrow, OK; a brother, Jay Hawley, of Alaska; two nieces, Casa and Cameron Schroer, of Broken Arrow, OK; a nephew, Seth Schroer, also of Broken Arrow; other extended family members and many dear friends.
A funeral service for Dan Hawley will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27th at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
