The incident occurred on ND Highway 66 approximately seven miles west of Rolette.
According to the HP report the Oldsmobile was traveling west bound on the highway from the Belcourt area to her home in Minot when she entered the north ditch of the highway due to icy conditions.

The second vehicle was en route to their residence in Rolette from the Bottineau area. Both vehicles came to rest in the south ditch. The driver of vehicle No. 1 was deceased at the scene.
