Journal Staff Report FARGO, N.D. — After seeing its three-game winning streak snapped Friday by Fargo North, Devils Lake was unable to return to the winning column as the Firebirds fell behind early and dropped a 78-64 decision to Fargo Davies on Tuesday in Fargo. “We shot terribly,” said Devils Lake coach Justin Klein, whose team found itself in a 22-4 hole early in the contest. The Firebirds did manage to close the gap to 55-52 with seven minutes remaining in the game, but the Eagles managed to outscore Devils Lake 23-12 down the stretch to secure the win. Christa Lysne led Devils Lake with 17 points and Taylor Swanson added 13 points. Madison Walford and Emily Schafer also reached double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Davies was paced by Alexa Balstad’s game-high 24 points. Devils Lake will play Fargo Shanley at Thursday at the Devils Lake Sports Center.
