Obit: Rita Smith-Volk

Rita Smith-Volk, 55, of the Spirit Lake Nation, Tokio area, passed away on Sunday morning, November 4, 2012, at the Lakota Good Samaritan Center, Lakota, N.D.

A Wake and Prayer Service for Rita will be held at the Woodlake Wellness Center, Tokio, N.D., on Friday, November 9, beginning at 5 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m. The procession to Woodlake will leave from the Spirit Lake Casino and Resort at 4 p.m. on Friday.

Funeral Services for Rita will also be held at the Woodlake Wellness Center on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Rita will be laid to rest with her departed family members at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Michael, N.D.

Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, is in charge of arrangements.
