  • The fourth annual Fright Night is coming up and organizers are hoping it will be the biggest and best party ever.
Fright Night is a Halloween-based party held in the Memorial Building from 5 to 9 p.m. This year it will be held on Oct. 29.
It’s a chance for trick or treaters to put on their costumes and enjoy an evening of fun indoors before the big day arrives.
There will be games, candy and prizes for children and Eva Olson, one of the event’s founders and organizers, says “It’s a nice place to go, it’s indoors, it’s holiday fun in a very safe atmosphere.”
She said there is still room for other non-profit organizations to join in the fun and help raise cash for their local charities. There is no charge to set up a booth but each group is responsible for creating their own game and providing their own prizes.
“If someone wants to do this, they can give me a call at 662-5262 for more information,” said Olson. “There's still time.”
The non-profit will keep whatever money they raise, while the proceeds from the door will be given to one or more local charities.
Olson said there will be a $3 cover charge at the door.
In the past the event has included a number of prize booths, along with concessions and supper served by one of the local organizations, a bounce house, a performance by one of the dance groups from the city and much more - this year look for much the same.
Olson said the event was planned for  younger children, but all ages are welcome.
“Older kids are welcome, but the games are geared toward the younger kids,” she said.
Olson also said everyone is encouraged to come in costume.
“Come on out and have some fun,” she said.
