Three with local connections enjoy The Price is Right.
Siblings Cindy (Toso) Senger of Cando, N.D., Scott Toso of Duluth, Minn., and Donna (Toso) Halldorson of Devils Lake spent a week in Los Angeles this summer during what would have been their mother’s 84th birthday on June 17.
Their mother Clarice Toso, passed away in March of 2011, less than three months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Prior to that, she was a healthy 82-year-old woman and had hoped to make one last trip there to visit her sister and other relatives.
But she didn’t have the chance.
The siblings took the trip in their mother’s honor and since they would be there, applied for and obtained tickets to the Price is Right, TV game show - one of their mother’s favorites.
In the tradition of Price is Right audience members, they decided they would have t-shirts made before they went to California. Halldorson said the idea for the shirts came to her in a dream. She’s certain it was a sign from their mother.
On June 19 they were called to “come on down.” The trio from North Dakota were three of 300 people that were lucky enough to get inside for a taping of the long-running game show. They not only made the cut, but one of them got on stage with host Drew Carey and had a chance to spin the big wheel.
How did they do?
You’ll have to watch it yourself to find out because all three are sworn to secrecy. The episode airs on October 10 at 10 a.m. on KXJB-TV Channel 4 in Devils Lake.
