  • Cyril Stoltman, 73 of Devils Lake, N.D., passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side.

  • Cyril Stoltman, 73 of Devils Lake, N.D., passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side.
    Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 5 at the St. Stanislaus, Catholic Church, Warsaw, N.D. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service on Thursday, October 4 at the Dahl Funeral of East Grand Forks, Minn. and one hour prior to the funeral service at Stanislaus Catholic Church on Friday. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Cemetery, Warsaw.
    Cyril Francis Stoltman was born on June 21, 1939 in Oslo, Minn. the son of Adam and Frances (Danielski) Stoltman. Cyril grew up and attended Oslo High School and graduated with the Class of 1957. Following his high school graduation, he joined the United States Army from October 1957 and served his country through September 1959. After serving in the military Cyril farmed in the Oslo area until his retirement. Cyril married Donna "Kay" Ellison on November 16, 1963 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Warsaw. In 2002, they moved to their beloved home with the beautiful view of Devils Lake, N.D.
    Cyril was an active member of the Oslo Lions Club, Oslo Rod and Gun Club, Walsh County Water Resource District and Walshville Township Board.
    Cyril was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He was fascinated with nature and history. He never missed the opportunity to try his luck at a casino. Cyril was known for his great sense of humor. He was adored by many and took pleasure in entertaining others with his unbelievable life adventures. Cyril enjoyed spending his winters in Arizona. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.
    Family members who survive Cyril are his children, David (Jing) Stoltman of Centerville, Utah, Debi (Lance Hagen) Stoltman of Bismarck, N.D., Michael (Kristi) Stoltman of Minto, N.D. and Michelle (Paul) Byzewski of Manvel, N.D.; grandchildren, Alex Peng, Justin and Joshua Stoltman, Kierstyn Grzadzielewski and Lexi Kay Hagen; brother, Joe Stoltman of Midway, Utah; sister, Irene Mozinski of Minto, N.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
    Cyril is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna "Kay" on November 1, 2011; brother, Harold Stoltman, sister, Connie Stoltman and son-in-law, Mike Grzadzielewski.
