Allan Clifford Howard, 72, of Devils Lake, ND, passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at Heartland Care Center. A “Celebration of Life” ceremony is planned for Tuesday, August 28 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Bethel Free Church in Devils Lake. Allan was born October 9, 1939 and raised in Wildrose, ND. His parents were Clifford Harold and Mabel Emma and Allen was one of six children. He graduated from Crosby High School in 1957. Allen did a number of jobs all over the country before deciding that he should be a police officer. He was a police officer in Columbus, ND, for a few years and then moved to Cooperstown, ND, to become Chief of Police officer as he had a love for taking care of people. After retiring, he and his wife, Tracy started the A-1 taxi Service. Allan is survived by his wife, Tracy; children, John, Teresa, Craig (Lindley) and Christopher; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Melford, Melvin, Myron and Brian; brother-in-law, Larry; nieces, nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; mother, Mabel; and his sister, Doris. Allan was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
