  • BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's Public Service Commission says a segment of oil pipeline near Stanley will have thicker pipe, and will be buried more deeply than normal.
Part of the pipeline will be near a 4-H building that's used for the Mountrail County Fair. The pipeline is part of an Enbridge Corp. expansion project that will allow more North Dakota oil to be sent to refineries.
Commissioner Kevin Cramer says the thicker pipe and deeper burial will affect about a two-mile segment of the new pipeline.
Normally the pipeline would be buried 36 inches underground. The segment that's close to Stanley will be 72 inches underground.
The Mountrail County Commission has endorsed the changes, and commissioners say they support the project.
