DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) — Affordable housing in Dickinson that was destroyed by a tornado three years ago has been replaced.
Officials scheduled a grand opening Wednesday for a 36-unit townhome project. It was built by GLS Properties LLC with financing help through the state Housing Finance Agency and the federal Rural Development agency.
Housing Finance Agency Executive Director Mike Anderson and Rural Development State Director Jasper Schneider say it is a good example of a public-private partnership to address a critical housing need.
The tornado that devastated Dickinson's south side hit on July 8, 2009. No serious injuries were reported but damage was estimated at $20 million.
