  • ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) — A fundraiser in southeastern Minnesota has raised an estimated $8,000 for two young girls who suffered serious burns in a campfire explosion last month.
Four-year-old Chloe Langen and 5-year-old Annabelle Heyer were burned on over half their bodies. They were at the Money Creek Haven Campground region in Houston County when someone poured a flammable liquid on a campfire.
The resulting explosion injured four children, with Annabelle and Chloe facing especially difficult roads to recovery. They're both still hospitalized.
A Post-Bulletin of Rochester report says community members held a pancake-breakfast fundraiser for them Saturday. Organizers say more than 500 attendees came.
Farmer Rick Torgeson of Money Creek was one. He says he hopes the fundraiser lets the girls know people are thinking of them.
