  • DL man sentenced for arson, warrant out for other suspect

  • According to States Attorney Lonnie Olson, a Devils Lake man was sentenced this week on charges of arson, a class B felony, and burglary, a C felony.

  • According to States Attorney Lonnie Olson, a Devils Lake man was sentenced this week on charges of arson, a class B felony, and burglary, a C felony.
    Josh Borstad, 22, sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections, to serve three years for the burglary with two years suspended for two years, and 10 years in the Department of Corrections, to serve three years concurrently, and seven years suspended for five years.   Borstad will be on five years of supervision upon his release. Restitution on the damages will be held open for 90 days to determine the amounts and parties due the amounts. 
    According to the report, the defendant , along with two others, entered a home on June 16, 2011, that was going through foreclosure in Devils Lake and started a fire, causing extensive damages.  He also took a motorcycle helmet found in the home.
    Co-defendant Gary Dzielinski is charged with the same two charges and another arson. A warrant has been issued for his arrest for those charges and escape for absconding the area.
