RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — More than 2,200 soldiers from 17 states and six foreign countries are in southwest South Dakota for a training exercise.
The South Dakota National Guard's annual Golden Coyote exercise in Rapid City and the southern Black Hills is in its 28th year. The two-week exercise started over the weekend.
The Guard touts Golden Coyote as one of the nation's top training exercises for Guard, Reserve, and active-duty forces.
