GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Federal safety regulators plan to fine a Grand Forks wind blade factory $92,000 after completing their investigation into the death of a worker in July.
The Grand Forks Herald reports that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is alleging five violations against LM Wind Power, including one of willful negligence.
OSHA spokesman Eric Brooks says the violation of willful negligence means that the employer was aware of a potential hazard but did nothing.
LM Wind Power officials could not be reached for comment.
The company has 15 days to contest the citations or otherwise respond.
